User perspectives in transition processes

<p class=“MsoNormal” style=“MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: normal”>The aim of this seminar is to strengthen the conceptualisation of users in the overall transition project. During the seminar, we will present how users are currently conceptualised in transition processes, based on a literature review of user perspectives; mainly in the multi-level perspective and strategic niche management approach. We will also present some initial thoughts about how we plan to conceptualise users in the specific case study of smart homes in subproject, B in order to initiate a general discussion about how to integrate different user perspectives in the overall transition project. The presentations and discussions on user perspectives will be related to general theoretical reflections in existing studies, such as lack of agency, local to global learning aggregation processes, and transitions in the making. The outcome of this seminar should hopefully be that participants have gained a better overview of the transition theory in general, and more specifically of how users are – and may be – conceptualised in transition processes. <?xml:namespace prefix =“ o” />
